En estos días uno de mis compañeros más «inteligentes» que tengo, no siguió las reglas que tenemos para nombrar las ramas e hizo mal uso del «poder» que tiene para crear ramas en el servidor y fue necesario limpiar su error. Pero para variar, no sabíamos como hacerlo así es que por su culpa tuvimos que ponernos a investigar como borrar una rama remota, aquí el comando:
git push origin :<rama>
El secreto esta en los dos punto(:) antes del nombre de la rama, que le indica al git, que queremos borrar esa rama. También es importante revisar los privilegios del usuario que intenta realizar el borrado, en nuestro caso utilizamos gitolite y a pesar de que algunos podemos crear ramas remotas, solo un usuario puede eliminarlas del servidor, por lo que este comando lo debe de ejecutar un usuario con suficientes permisos.
